So, as some know, I've been learning Korean through self-study.
I've been doing REALLY well with reading. This website has been a huge help with studying:
http://www.aeriagloris.com/LearnKorean/
It doesn't help with initial - medial - final phonetic translation, but its a huge help in general and makes learning the phonetic reading much, much easier to pick up.
So I can now read simple words and phrases... Even if I don't have enough of a vocabulary to understand what I'm reading. haha
But its a step closer. It means I can start really making the most use out of my textbooks and work books since I can now use Hangul exclusively with my flash cards and such.
My awesome MIL sent us some practice books and a Manwha publication sort of like the American "Shounen jump". Which has small samplings of various graphic novels in it. Its going to be fun for us to read and translate it together. :)
I'm going to try and write at least one whole paragraph in Hangul to my Korean penpal on my next letter to her. Its going to be horribly written, but I have to try. haha
