Well, that was officially one of the worst months I've had in a long while. But fortunately, things have calmed down.

Where to start.

First, I got this weird nagging feeling one day. And it kept bugging at me and I felt like I needed to check Craigslist which I hadn't looked at in a while. It bugged me all during my exercise class, like I was forgetting something. Well, when I got home I hopped on craigslist and an advertisement for an "8 month old pit bull" caught my eye. Well... I skipped all other listings and clicked it, it seems it had JUST been posted. It was PATRIOT!!! Never mind that Patriot is much older than 8 months, but the adoption agreement was that if for any reason things didn't work out, they would call me and I'd come get him. Instead, no call and they chose to just give him away themselves. Needless to say, I called the number and he sounded surprised to hear from me (Gee, wonder why). So apparently he got pulled back into the Army, fair enough. But that doesn't change the adoption terms. So he agreed I could pick Patriot up that weekend and that his brother would be there since he was now out of state. Well, We show... No one is home. We wait, no one shows up. We call, no one answers. We wait two hours and call some more, still no luck. After we drive the hour back to the base, we finally get a call and he has no idea where is brother or Patriot are. He had to call around to find him. So then we drive all the way back to get Patriot. He had no food left (though he should have) had lost weight and they had apparently ignored what I told them of his allergies. Once we got him home, we discovered he had apparently been eating table scraps?... Glad he is back.

On the flip side, the day after we get monster mutt home, we have more issues with housing and I blow a fuse. So we decide to move out and rent off base. Renting is such a pain in the butt with a pit bull in tow. But we did find a tiny little duplex that allowed us to bring him along, not much to it but it is cozy enough.

The downside is: No dryer hook up, the washer hook up is under a lean too outside and it has a wall and window unit instead of central. So we're going to have to make regular trips to the laundry mat. Not glamorous living by any means, lol. But, I've had worse conditions. And we'll be able to save more money for our next location.

Oh... And the stove has no way to tell the oven temperature. I completely missed this when moving in. The landlord says to use an oven thermometer. XD Haaaa. no.

But I'm only cooking for two. And we have a microwave, rice cooker and crock pot. And I can always get a cheap toaster oven in case I want to make brownies or muffins. So I'm not worried about the oven. The burners are functional though, which is more important. So we can definitely make do.

The other thing is I don't think I'll be using the street mailbox... I put a couple wishes in there to mail out a while ago, and they never got picked up apparently and were still in there when Bobby went to check the box. So I had to go drop them in a blue box. And then I went and got a PO Box. I figure the PO box is safer anyways.

We passed our housing inspection without too much trouble. I was concerned about that after the housing BS and the liberties housing takes with what they feel they can do. But it worked out. My wrists are killing me from the cleaning, but I feel accomplished to have managed the task with so much else going on (moving, school, dog, ect.)

Now, for exams. Eager to get that all over and done with.

And I need to sort through everything and get rid of... Everything. Hurray for huge yard sales. Perhaps I'll pull together a little spare cash for my trip next month... Speaking of which...

I get to visit Florida and Georgia in June! I can't wait to see everyone and go shopping with my Mother and Sister. <3 Maybe hit up some Yard sales with my Grandmother. Eat some yummy food at my Grandfather's. I'll get to play with my nephew and be there for his birthday! I can't wait! <3

So much for being more productive with posting, right?

So... I found this cute blog template and am going to try it out for a while. :)
And look, the mixpod is actually working!

I've started my Spanish class, so far so good. He gave us homework... Yeah... Worksheets just like the ones from High school. XP He is a pretty cool teacher so far though, very upbeat about teaching.

I'm still loving my exercise class. Its working too! My stamina is much better now, and I am toning up. But its also making me hungrier than usual. lol

We just celebrated our anniversary! Four years of wedded bliss! <3
We went shopping, went for Sushi for dinner and went to see "Red Riding Hood". It wasn't bad, the new approach to the story was good... But I feel that the way it was "told" could have been better.

I've started doing more penpaling and cutting back on swapping. I think I enjoy letters more anyways. But there are still some swaps I want to continue doing, mainly Kawaii. I found a neat old CD organizer that I am now using to organize some of my greeting cards! Not all of them fit, but its much more convenient than the ramen boxes that I use to sort the others in my drawer. lol

Later today, we are going to pick up a new (used) dryer. Hopefully, this one will last us till the end of our time here at least.

I found a lovely book of Macaroon recipes! They seem simple enough to make (famous last words...) and are so beautiful. I'm going to try them out, but I think I need to invest in an electric mixer first, as I'm told making them by hand would be a lesson in suffering... lol

Its now well into the new year... And I have so many ideas of what I want to accomplish this year.

And that includes being more productive with my blog.

I have lots of ideas and things I want to share. I want to make a noticeable improvement in my foreign language skills. So I am enrolled in a beginners Spanish class to help me brush up on the basics, and then I'll decide if I am comfortable enough to jump into Spanish 3 or 4 next semester... Or if I need take another refresher class first. I'm still pretty comfortable reading and writing in Spanish. But it seems that when I try to carry a conversation in Spanish verbally, I go brain dead.

I was rather ticked to see a small box I mailed to Mexico show back up, damaged. But the contents were ok, so I'll try to mail them again. Fortunately, that was just a random RAK and not a swap. So no deadlines for me to freak over. This is after a wish I sent to Europe went missing to though, thats very frustrating. Hopefully, the missing wish will turn up also. But other than that, things seem to be coming and going ok.

I've been making TONS of handmade envelopes. Its oddly therapeutic and very addicting. I have a nice little stash going for swapping and pen-paling. Now I just need to finish up the slippers for my Sister. Hopefully they'll fit her comfortably and she'll like the colors.

And tomorrow... SAN FRANCISCO! Yay! I love San Fran so much! Tomorrow we are going to see the Chinese New Year parade and festivities. I'm very excited. But the OAC was not very diligent in planning the trip, so I'm worried I'll only get to see the very beginning of the parade (which means I might miss the Dragon that is supposed to be the highlight of the parade...) I hope I'll get to see it... It turns out they also opened an Angelic Pretty in San Fran, so I'll be going to have a look at that too.

Wow, its been a while...

Well, in my last post I mentioned Patriot was adopted. Unfortunately, it did not work out. Fortunately, that means he is here with us for Christmas! So I'm happy about that, and won't be re-listing him for adoption until after the Holidays. Christmas is SO close! I can't wait. I still have a few more Christmas cards to mail out. I really need to sit down and count how many I've mailed now. I think I'm pretty close to my goal by now.

My Archaeology class is over... And I got an A for the class! I can't wait till next semester for Cultural Anthropology.

So... Patriot was adopted on Monday and went to his new home...

I miss him. He is such an awesome boy and my daily routine is really, really off without him. And I keep seeing dog toys and things and going, "ooh... Patriot would like that..." :( At least I sent him to his new home with Christmas presents. I bought him treats, a new bone and a new rope before he left. :(

Freya is happy to have regained full control, however. In the past few days she has gone back to wreaking ultimate havoc in any way possible. Pushing her treat jar off the dresser. Finding and opening unopened bags of treats (like the one intended for her stocking. That bad girl). Completely removing my table cloth and all the contents from the table to the floor. Oh, the excitement and mayhem that will ensue once the tree is up. Last year, she took a flying leap into it. I expect no less this year. Little nut.

Kodak has been doing much better nerve wise since we set up her little kitty enclosure and separated her from Freya. She can still socialize with her, but Freya can't chase her or try to play with her and stress her out. Poor girl, she loves Freya... But the older she gets the less she can tolerate Freya's wild antics.

I picked up some Turkey flavored wet food, roast beef and shrimp for the furballs to have for Thanksgiving. Hubby and I will probably just go to IHOP. lol

Hmmm... So much Christmas shopping left to do. So many things left to make.

Yay! I'm excited about tomorrow.

Not about my Doctors appt. Which I'll get to in a second...

But because we are going on a date day to San Francisco! Hubby and I are going to go eat, go shopping and explore. I love San Francisco. There is so much life and so much going on... So much to see and do and so much VARIETY. People from all walks of life, all backgrounds. All centered in this one spot. Like a giant ant farm with no queen to keep things uniform. There is so much culture there too. I love going to Japantown. But there is also Chinatown and a variety of other cultural hot spots all over the place. And lots of shopping and good food!

So I'm looking forward to eating out and doing some Christmas and Swap-bot shopping.

The Dr.s appointment is at an incredibly odd time. 9:30 PM... But it gives us the opportunity to enjoy the entire day prior. (Oh, and good news as I think I forgot to update after my last appointment. The neurologist does not think I have absence seizures. :) So I'm getting an MRI tomorrow just to make sure nothing else is wrong. I may just be feather brained. haha)

Christmas is coming quickly. I want it to slow down so I can enjoy fall some more. I love Halloween and Thanksgiving. I want to splurge and enjoy them without worrying about budgeting and shopping for Christmas so much. And I still have a LOT of things to make and finish up in time to mail out in late November / early December.

And I have a Swap-bot goal for this Christmas too. Save up enough change to mail out 100 Christmas cards. I have more than enough cards to meet the quota, its just a matter of saving up the postage. Which shouldn't be hard, the postage jar is has already been started.

Tomorrow is October 1, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Today was a good day. Hubby and I did a date day. Sushi and Resident Evil!

And Halloween shopping!

Yay! It is fall and it is almost Halloween!

Fall is my favorite time of the year so I'm stocking up on Halloween and Harvest decor and goodies.

I'm actually hosting a "Halloween Inspiration Kit" swap for The Darkness group on swap-bot. As well as participating in a Halloween themed "Secret Ghouls" swap.

I have a HUGE skull planter from target. But that is going to become a trashcan year round in my room. I think the big, black, glittery skull will be very cute next to my white vanity. ;)

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE dollar stores and dollar bins? I do. I can go wild in a good dollar store. I've stocked up on a nice little collection of cupcake papers, cello bags and seasonal/holiday napkins thanks to dollar sections.

Not to mention cute notebooks, magnetic shopping lists, themed ribbons, stamps... Too much fun. And affordable to share too!

And I apparently have a sock addiction. I've obtained seven new pairs of Halloween socks... And Spider Man and Dr.Seuss socks. Thats the one good thing about having tiny feet, finding nice shoes is a nightmare. But I can fit into all sorts of cute kids socks.

Walmart has some cute "For the Cure" hats right now. I really want one of the snow caps. Micheals has a nice assortment of for the cure items as well. Time to set your appointments if you need to.

October is also National Pit Bull Awareness month and October 23 is National Pit Bull Awareness Day. So be sure to swing by Pitbull Rescue Central website to download some pamphlets to share with people to help educate them about the breed and the threat that BSL is to ALL dog owners. (Patriot will be very grateful if you do.)

So much to do these next few months. Lots of gifts to get ready for Christmas.
Planning for Hubby's birthday. Planning for Thanksgiving. Trying out Pumpkin recipes. Dr. appointments, Dental appointments. Final Fantasy binges...

So far this month has been much more kind than the past month or two, which were rough. So here is hoping they stay that way. (Or maybe I just jinxed it...)
